INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES - 5 Day Course

DESIGNED FOR

Anyone who wishes to instruct courses which combine practical and classroom skills or be able to deliver Lantra Awards Courses. A 3 Day version of the course is also available for those who do not need classroom skills or Lantra Awards recognition.

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLS) Level 4

The Course will also provide candidates with:

  • The required 30 hours guided learning
  • Evidence towards their portfolio

  • Planning the content: Writing training objectives, analysing skills and preparing Instruction Plans
  • Delivering Training - Preparation and Practice leading to a more confident performance
  • Managing Trainee practice time: planning, organisation and motivation of trainees to ensure they get the maximum benefit from the session
  • Style: the use of questions in involving trainees
  • Error correction: using trainees errors to maximise the learning
  • Learning Styles: self evaluation, and appreciation of other styles
  • Opening and closing a training session
  • Dealing with all types of Learners
  • Facilitating in a classroom environment
  • Comparing own results to objectives
  • Different methods of Assessment

ASSESSMENT

Trainees will be assessed during the course and need to achieve a standard to meet one of the requirements of becoming a Lantra Awards Instructor
